FAQ

Why Are We Called "The Cupcake"?

Cupcake Studios provides Broadway-level talent in a small, personal-sized setting, at very reasonable prices. Sweet and delicious.

Additionally, the creator, Michael Pettenato, owned 3 cupcake stores in Atlanta, GA, which were featured on ABC, CNN, and on the Food Network. Yes, he was on "Cupcake Wars."

How Do I Purchase Tickets?

We recommend purchasing tickets in advance online, because shows can sell out. You can also show up at the box office in person, 60 minutes before the show. If a show is Sold Out as of the morning of the show, we will mark it as sold out on the online calendar!

Are You Wheelchair Accessible?

Yes. Please arrive 20-30 minutes prior to showtime so that we can have plenty of time to get you situated comfortably.

Do You Accept Credit Cards?

Yes.

Are the Shows Appropriate for All Ages?

All of our daytime shows, and most of our evening shows are family friendly. If we have a show with adult humor or content, we try to clearly label the show in the description. For kid's shows, children under 3 are free as long as they are seated in their parent's lap. If they need their own seat, you must purchase an extra ticket. Avenue Q is NOT appropriate for children under 10.

Do I Need to Print My Tickets and Show my ID?

No. Despite what is printed on 3rd party ticket sites, we don't need a printout. You'll be on our list at Will Call. If you're not on the list, you can pull up the receipt on your phone.

What if I Miss My Show and Want to Reschedule?

We do not reschedule tickets, but you can come to another show on standby for free.  Simply show up to any performance and tell the person at Will Call that you missed your original show and that you would like to be on standby. You will need to show your receipt from your phone. Then, wait in the lobby until all the other guests are seated. Just before showtime, we'll release any unclaimed seats to the standby list.

***We do not respond to emails or phone calls about reschedule requests.

How Does Ticketing/Seating Work?

You do not need to print your tickets at home; when you arrive at the theater we will check you in by last name.

There are assigned seats for the Reserved VIP section only. Guests who have paid for these tickets may come straight into the theater at any time. Your seats will be reserved with your name.

Everyone else will be assigned a number when they "check in" at the box office, starting 30 minutes before showtime. At 10-20 minutes before showtime, we let "Early Bird" guests into the theater to choose seats first. At 5-15 minutes to showtime, we allow "General Admission" guests to enter the theater and choose from the seats that remain. "Special General Admission" tickets are a "special" price that we sometimes offer to fill remaining seats. They are typically the back 2 rows, obstructed view, and scattered seating.

This means that if you have Early Bird tickets, but you arrive later than 15 minutes prior to showtime, you will have to choose from whatever seats are available at that time.

At 0-5 minutes before showtime, we seat any remaining ticketed guests. We then close the front doors and release any unclaimed seats to the Standby list.

We do not allow late seating. Our theater is intimate, and it would disrupt the entire experience for all of our other audience members to try and find seats for late guests once a show has started.

WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO DENY CUSTOMERS WHO ARRIVE LATER THAN 5 MINUTES BEFORE SHOWTIME, EVEN IF THEY HAVE PAID FOR TICKETS. LATE CUSTOMERS WILL NOT RECEIVE A REFUND, AND MAY NOT RESCHEDULE, BUT MAY COME TO A LATER SHOW ON "STANDBY." SEE THE FULL POLICY ABOVE.

Seats, besides VIP-level, are not allowed to be reserved or held.

Why Don't You Pick Up the Phone or Answer Emails?

There should be no reason to contact us, since we clearly state that we don't issue refunds or transfer tickets, and we don't take phone ticket orders. Unfortunately, we still receive dozens of emails and calls every day asking to transfer tickets or soliciting our business. We don't respond to those requests, as those questions have been answered here thoroughly.
